On Jan. 16 at 7:50 a.m., the Glendale Fire Dept. received a report of a fire in the parking garage of an apartment building at 2800 Montrose Ave. Upon arrival firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the parking garage located on the west side of La Crescenta Avenue and south of Montrose Avenue, with multiple vehicles on fire. The origin of the fire started with a single vehicle; the cause of the fire is under investigation. Five cars in total were a complete loss with as many as 40 other vehicles being affected. The parking structure has been red tagged. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.
