California Highway Patrol Officer Andre Primeaux will be leaving as the public information officer for Crescenta Valley at the end of December.
Primeaux went above and beyond his duties as PIO by attending CV Town Council meetings and working together with council members for safe school routes. The PIO is the liaison between the community and CHP.
He is being transferred to the San Bernandino area, which is much closer to his home. His replacement will be Officer Ming-Yan Hsu who has been with CHP for three years, all of which he was assigned to the Altadena office.
“I am looking forward to working with the people of La Crescenta and Altadena,” Hsu said. He added that he knew the Crescenta Valley area and the concerns of school route safety.
“I was up there the week before I had to begin training for this [PIO] job. I have heard the concerns about the school zone roads,” he said.
He will begin his duties in January and will be introduced to the community at the CV Town Council meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Rosemont Middle School cafeteria. It is also an opportunity to say goodbye and to thank Officer Primeaux.
