Warrene McReynolds Scott passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 3 surrounded by her loving family. Warrene was born March 16, 1934 to Robert and Idalyn McReynolds in Indianapolis, Indiana. Along with her parents and brother, Robert McReynolds Jr. (deceased), she moved to California in 1940.

She graduated from Antelope Valley High School. From there she went on to work for Bank of America in Montrose where she met the love of her life, Mike Scott. He swept her off her feet and they married six months later and remained married for 63 years.

In 1967, they moved into their home in La Crescenta. Their house has served as a gathering place for their family for 51 years. They went on to raise four children: Michael Jr., Steve, Susan (Matherly) and Nancy (Monteleone). The family grew to include nine grandchildren: Charisse Scott-Davidbadal and her husband Kevin, Amanda Scott, Michael Scott III, Crystal Scott, Taylor Matherly and his wife Melissa, Bree Matherly, Brooke Matherly, Amber Matherly, Brittini Brenes and her husband Frank; great grandchildren: Brandon, Frank Jr. and Julian Brenes, Christian Gomez and Oliver Matherly; daughters-in-laws: Debbie Scott and Jeanne Scott and sons-in-law Jim Matherly and Victor Monteleone.

Some of her favorite things were spending time with her grandchildren and listening to their stories. She loved her bowling league and church volleyball. Friday nights were reserved for her friends at Los Gringos Locos. She took great pride in her garden that she directed her husband Mike in doing so. They won awards for this.

She loved her church and dedicated her life to family and friends and serving others. Her family will miss their loving and caring matriarch.

She is survived by her husband, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, Betty McReynolds and Lila Keller, her many nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Nov 10 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in La Crescenta.
