Verdugo Hills Women’s Chorus (VHWC), a member of California Women’s Chorus, Inc. (CWC), comprises women who share a love of music and a desire to sing and entertain. CWC’s goals are to support choral singing among women and to raise funds for scholarships, which are presented at the annual convention and concert to young students of voice.
Several women recently answered VHWC’s call for musical talent and are now the newest members of the chorus. They found it easy to join “the friendliest group in town.” No auditions are required, just a desire to sing and a commitment to rehearse every Monday morning from September to June.
In addition to her extraordinary talent, Ki Park, the new director, has a willingness to share many hard-learned lessons with members of the women’s chorus. She has chosen several pieces of music, some old and some new, to be presented to the audiences.
Starting off the holiday season, the chorus performed at Villa Gardens in Pasadena on Nov. 19. The chorus has performed for Villa Gardens twice a year for many years. On Monday, Nov. 26, the chorus performed for the residents of Glen Terra Assisted Living in Glendale. Glen Terra residents enjoy a full calendar of social activities. They recognize each senior is unique and their residents maintain independence while receiving care and support tailored to their individual needs.
VHWC will present a varied program designed to please all residents.
The chorus is available to perform for organizations and church groups in the La Crescenta, La Cañada, Pasadena, Altadena, Glendale and other communities who would enjoy a concert presented by 35 women who love to sing. Contact Arlene Massimino at (818) 624-1111 for further information on scheduling VHWC.
