Relate at CVCHURCH

CVCHURCH is hosting Relate, workshops to improve marriage and family relationships. The three sessions focus on communication, living in forgiveness and sex and intimacy with a Q&A on sex and intimacy afterward.

The cost is $49 per couple. Childcare is $20 per child for the weekend, but RSVP is required. RSVP to CVCHURCH at (818) 249-5805 or see the CVCHURCH website at CVCHURCH.com/events.

These sessions are on Friday, Jan. 25 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (lunch included).

This Week at LCIF

All are invited to Lutheran Church in the Foothills on Sunday, Jan. 20 for education, worship, celebration and fellowship. Education hour for all ages begins at 9 a.m. At 10 a.m., all worship as a family. Children, Youth and Family director Stephen Robertson will lead the time of family worship with a sermon called “Strength to Love.” Fellowship of conversation and refreshments follows. All are invited.

On Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. is a screening of “I Still Believe” based on the story of Russ Taff. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Tickets are available at www.lcifoothills.org.

Walk and Word

Spend time Sunday mornings discovering Scripture while hiking Deukmejian Park. Participants meet at 8 a.m. at the parking lot (3429 Markridge Road, La Crescenta) on all but the first Sunday of each month. Hike for an hour, then journal and share for an hour about a selection of Scripture. All are invited who feel drawn to this alternative spiritual activity under the guidance of CV United Methodist Church lay minister Jeanne Lavieri.

For those interested but unable to hike, several picnic tables with wheelchair access are available.

‘I Can Only Imagine’ at
Bethel Church

On Sunday, March 31, Bethel Church in Sun Valley is offering a screening of the film “I Can Only Imagine” (rated PG). 

This family drama charts the life of Bart Millard and his memories of his late father, which inspired the hit song “I Can Only Imagine” by the band Mercy Me. A suitable kids film will be shown while adults view the main feature. The video presentation starts at 5:30 p.m. 

A potluck supper precedes the movie at 5 p.m. Free admission.
