Glendale Elks Lodge #1289 recognized local emergency personnel at a banquet held on Feb. 22 at its clubhouse in Glendale. Among those honored were Steve Goldsworthy as first responder of the year and the Montrose Search and Rescue team as law enforcement special unit. Presenting their awards was Dave Silversparre, former captain of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Michelle Gonzalez with the Glendale Police Dept. was recognized for her “commitment and dedication to the community” and Firestation 21 was also honored as first responders of the year.
