Gaylord Barnes passed away peacefully at home on March 28 with his wife of 66 years Gloria (Kutz) Barnes by his side.
Born in Morell, Kansas, he attended Fortuna High School in Humboldt County where he was a basketball star. He moved to Southern California to attend Glendale College where he met the love of his life, Gloria.
He is preceded in death by his son Gary.
One of his favorite memories was as a teenager having a paper route in Newport Beach and living in his bathing suit all day. He enjoyed RV traveling and was the president of the California Coachmen for 35 years where he was fondly called “Mr. Coachmen.” He was the owner of Landies Verdugo House for 35 years, a custom drapery business.
Memorial services are Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery, 1341 Glenwood Road, Glendale. Interment to follow.
