The Crescenta Valley High School baseball team exploded for 19 runs on Tuesday in a 19-1 win over Muir High School. Vincent Parrot, David Melendez, Will Grimm and Colby Rees each had a home run, while Noah Maddox hit two homers for CV, which now stands at 13-6 overall, and 7-1 in the Pacific League. The Falcons sit a half-game back of Arcadia (8-1) for first place.
CV’s only loss in league so far was April 2, when it lost to Burbank 3-2. The Falcons will go for the season sweep against Muir Friday at 7 p.m. at Stengel Field.
The end of the season is rapidly approaching. The Falcons have five games left, including Friday. The season concludes April 26 at Arcadia.
Speaking of great offense, the CV softball team put the hurt on Pasadena on Tuesday, 19-0. The Lady Falcons, who captured the Pacific League last year, are dominating once again. They’re 17-5-1 overall and 9-0 in league. Led by pitcher Dee Dee Hernandez, the Falcons are two games up on Arcadia and Burroughs for first place.
CV plays host to Burroughs today at 3:30 p.m.
