John Guy Gurley passed away on May 2. He was 70 years old.

John was the son of Ester and Guy Gurley. He lived in La Crescenta most of his life. He graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in 1967. He worked in various occupations, primarily in construction. However, he was better known for his bartending skills at Schoonerville, Up the Hill and Don’s Den. His favorite saying was, “Take what you need and leave what you can.”

John is survived by his sister Ruth Gurley Hokinson and Kathy.
