The Crescenta Valley Crush went 4-0 to earn gold in a 10-team 11U travel baseball tournament sponsored by USSSA this past weekend in Chino Hills and West Covina.
Strong pitching by Scott Vinceri, Ty Langford and Will Overstreet helped propel the Crush to their first large-scale tournament win since forming in August 2009. Home runs and stand-up triples by Kurt McNevin, Jaimy Blank, Jett Costibolo, Harrison Woo and Andrew Tinoco helped the team to compile 32 runs over four games. Outstanding defense led by Lorenzo Respicio and Lucas Martos-Repath held four opposing teams to a total of eight combined runs.
The Crush will play next in the Toys for Tots tournament in Glendale on Dec. 11-12.
