LCPC’s Parent Education Program takes part in Generosity Water program

On Nov. 1, La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s Parent Education Program launched an outreach fundraiser slated to benefit the global Generosity Water Project that builds needed wells in Third World countries. The effort involves the selling of enviromentally friendly stainless steel water bottles for $15 each.

Most of the proceeds will go to constructing the well, said Noelle Duryee, the program’s marketing and publicity chairwoman. Parent Education’s goal is to sell at least 600 water bottles in order to build a well which would supply water for approximately 400 people for 20 years. For every 600 bottles the program sells, Generosity Water will be able to builld a well in a community of need – and it is their hope that they will be able to build several.

Since 2008, Generosity Water has built 155 wells in 16 countries — enough to supply 62,000 people with clean water.
