Assistance League® of Flintridge (ALF) offers two after-school drama programs for students in La Cañada Flintridge and the surrounding communities. Each program culminates in a public performance at Lanterman Auditorium. Students entering grades 3-6 are invited to join ALFie Players for the fall program. Later in the season, students in grades 5-10 will have the opportunity to join ALFie Company’s winter production.

ALFie Players will perform “Aladdin KIDS,” based on the Disney animated film. This story of a dusty old lamp that changed a young man’s life features fun roles for both boys and girls. Students will rehearse beginning Sept. 3 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. at both ALF and the Lanterman Auditorium.  The performance is Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.

ALFie Company will perform “Singin’ in the Rain JR.” This story pours down hilarious situations, dancing and some of the best songs ever written. Rehearsals begin Jan. 7, 2020 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at ALF and Lanterman with a performance on March 6 at 7 p.m.

Katelyn Fike will return for her fourth year as drama director. Assistant director Tristan Waldron returns for his second year. Both Fike and Waldron have extensive drama experience and bring great energy and vision to the characters on stage.  Students will learn songs and choreography, and practice fundamental drama skills.  They often create their own costumes and sets.

Registration will open on Aug. 5 at noon at ALFlintridge.org. Early registration is recommended for these popular programs. The $275 program fee includes a cast photo, T-shirt and DVD of the play.
