update as of 4:55 PM Sunday:
Crescenta Valley Water District is continuing to work on the water main break on Pennsylvania Avenue between Stevens and El Caminito. The original estimate of having the water back to the affected houses at 5 PM has been extended to 8 PM.
The water main break apparently caused a sewer line break at a residence in the area. GWP responded and repaired the sewer line break, according to Dennis Maxwell, operations and maintenance manager, CVWD. CVWD continues to work on the water main break and crews hope to have water restored to all affected customers by 8 pm tonight, Sunday.
A water main break occurred on Pennsylvania Avenue at 4 a.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 4, between El Caminito Street and Stevens Street CVWD and Glendale Water & Power crews have isolated the water main break and about 15 homes are without water. Also, the pavement was damaged on Pennsylvania from El Caminito Street to Stevens Street, closing Pennsylvania to both north and south traffic.
The affected homes should have their water restored by 5 p.m. tonight after the crews make the repair and the water line is tested.
Pennsylvania will remain closed while crews work to repair the water main. The roadway maybe closed until tomorrow, Monday, and may be reopened after the water main is repaired and the pavement inspected for safety.
Please see the District’s website www.cvwd.com for additional information as it becomes available.
