July 31, 1946 – Aug. 24, 2019

Martina Reese, 73, of Lake View Terrace, passed away on Aug. 24 with her family taking care of her. She is survived by a husband, three children and three grandchildren.

She was born to the late Ceferino Cases and Carolina Ocampo on July 31, 1946 in Bario Estanza Lingayen, Pangasinan in the Philippines. Martina (Mely) graduated from The National Teachers College in Manila, Philippines and became a teacher.

She was the most giving mother, wife and friend. Her whole life she always thought of others and put them and their needs ahead of hers. Mely was a passionate cook who could whip up an abundant meal made for a large party of people, even if it only was meant as a small casual gathering.

Mely was a hardworking and loyal employee for the US Postal Service at the Sunland Post Office for over 35 years until retiring in 2014. She passed her strong work ethics to her children. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

In observance of the Catholic tradition of the 40-day post-death period, funeral arrangements are set to take place in a family residence in Las Vegas, Nevada on Oct. 5.
