Marjorie Carol Webb

June 25, 1923 – Oct. 28, 2019

Marjorie ”Margie” Carol Webb passed away peacefully in San Juan Capistrano on Oct. 28. She was 96.

Margie was born to Walter and Clara Jacobsen on June 25, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. She had a brother, Walter.

In June 1953, Margie married Philip Holland in Los Angeles and they soon started a family. Born in 1958, their beloved son James Clark Holland was welcomed into their lives. A few years passed before Phil and Margie adopted their daughter, Lisa Carol Holland, in 1965.

Margie was a loving mother, supportive wife and homemaker who raised James and Lisa in La Cañada. Sadly, their precious son James died at the young age of 17 – a loss from which one never really recovers. Marjorie and Philip dedicated a stained glass window (themed: “God’s Kingdom of Peace”) at The Church of the Lighted Window in October 1981 to memorialize their beloved son James Clark Holland (1958-1975).

Margie remained happily settled in La Cañada with her second husband, Raymond Webb, for more than 20 years.

Drawing on her compassionate nature, she enjoyed volunteering at Verdugo Hills Hospital for many years. Margie and her late husband Ray remained very active members of The Church of the Lighted Window where she truly enjoyed the incredible sermons given by Rev. Philip Anderson.

As time passed, Margie never lost her penchants for reading, close friendships, and life’s simple pleasures enjoyed on local strolls through the neighborhood and special places like Descanso Gardens. Reflecting back over many years of her rich life, she often expressed her profound love and longing for her precious James.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter Lisa Rathfelder and son-in-law Robert; granddaughter Sheryl; stepchildren Richard Webb and Pamela Webb and their children.

She will be greatly missed by all.
