Veterans Honored at Lincoln

Cindy Lopez with her husband Commander Roy Lopez of the U.S. Navy with their children Rolando, Romona and Jack Lopez.

Lincoln Elementary School held its annual Veteran’s Day Assembly on Friday, Nov. 8. It was a day to remember and celebrate the men and women who fought and continue to fight for America.

The event began with a flag ceremony led by Cub Scouts from Troop 310 followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Lincoln orchestra then played the school’s fight song.

The Student Council introduced the local heroes to the audience – veterans who are parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends of the Lincoln community. The ceremony concluded with 2nd Lt. Lynn McGinnis giving an informative speech about the history of Veteran’ s Day.

Special thanks to PTA mom Nicole Moreau for helping to organize this special event.
