Chamber Recognizes Community’s Best

The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce held its annual recognition banquet honoring local civic leaders and community supporters. The event, held at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, had over 100 people in attendance who came to congratulate the recipients.

In their acceptance speeches, many of the honorees acknowledged the importance of living in a community that supports the efforts of volunteers, law enforcement and educators.

This year’s recipients were Business of the Year: Bonner’s Party Rentals, Woman of the Year: Joanna Linkchorst, Man of the Year: Charly Shelton, Volunteer of the Year: Cindy Charles, Organization of the Year: Crescenta Valley Lions Club, Educator of the Year: Shawn Zargarian, Student of the Year: Mia Lewis, Beautification Award: Saint Luke’s of the Mountains, Firefighter of the Year: Grant Grunbaum, Glendale Police Department: Justin Darby, California Highway Patrol: Phillip Cooper, and LA County Sheriff: Rodger Burt. The American Legion/VFW was recognized with the prestigious Don Carpenter Award and a special President’s Award was presented to Mike Baldwin.
