Kristy Lyn Stupar Tyler

June 27, 1978 – Nov. 18, 2019

Our beloved daughter and wife, Kristy Stupar Tyler, passed away on Nov. 18 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 27, 1978 to loving parents George and Sue Stupar in Los Angeles. Her family moved to La Crescenta in 1978 just a few months after she was born.

Kristy attended Monte Vista Elementary School, Rosemont Middle School and Crescenta Valley High School graduating in 1996 with honors (GPA 4.2). During her high school years, Kristy played on the high school varsity volleyball team for four years. She also played four years of club volleyball.

After a short time at Pepperdine, Kristy transferred to Cal State University–Northridge (CSUN) into its physical therapy program. In 2004, she graduated with honors from the Master of Physical Therapy Program.

With the state board testing behind her, she went to work at Core Conditioning in Studio City. She worked there for six years before deciding to open her own physical therapy practice in 2010. Her first office was a room in Maloof Chiropractic in La Crescenta. Within the first year, Kristy decided that she wanted to make Pilates a part of her physical therapy practice. In 2011, she made the big move to a new location that would incorporate the Pilates aspect of her new vision.  By 2015, Tyler Physical Therapy and Pilates had outgrown its first studio and Tyler PTP was on the move again to its current location. Her business has thrived with six physical therapists and 11 Pilates instructors.

Kristy was also a certified Pilates instructor for many years. Several years ago, she earned the title of master Pilates instructor, which allowed her to become an associate professor at CSUN teaching new physical therapy students Pilates. Kristy loved teaching all the “newbies” so they could also become certified Pilates instructors.

On May 19, 2007, Kristy married the love of her life, Brad Tyler. In June 2008 they welcomed a beautiful son, Jett. Kristy continued to grow her practice and raise their son. Her great joys in life were her family and the love of her career, which involved her endless hours of helping and healing others.
