Crescenta Valley High School kids have talent and on Friday they invite the community to see what they can do.
Crescenta Valley High School Advance and Intermediate Dance programs have reached out to the student body to help celebrate the arts. CV’s Got Dance is this Friday at 7 p.m. at the MacDonald Auditorium, 4400 Ramsdell Ave.
Each year CVHS Dance puts on a holiday show, then a few years ago dancers decided to not only highlight their talents but others from the school. They put out a call and kids showed up for the auditions. In the past there have been budding composers, singers and musicians. This year a Yo-Yo expert will be added.
Dance instructor Fredda Manzo said this event is special because it gives students an opportunity to perform in a venue that may not otherwise be available to them.
In addition to those that won the auditions the Advanced and Intermediate dancers will be performing a variety of dances. Ballet, hip-hop and jazz dances are scheduled for Friday night.
The performance is not just a night at the theatre but also one of the main fundraisers for the program that had its budget reduced and now must reach out to the community for help.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and can be purchased at the door.
