ARCHITECTURAL LEGACY WALKING TOURS AND PRESENTATION

On Monday, Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. and
1 p.m., Pasadena Heritage is hosting
walking tours featuring some of
Pasadena’s unique architectural treasures. There is also the opportunity to visit Pasadena Heritage’s 1893 headquarters to see a presentation featuring Pasadena’s historic architecture in the movies. Note
that tours are of home exteriors only.

Pasadena Hillcrest Neighborhood Walking Tour includes some of the most beautiful neighborhoods including many grand homes in a variety of architectural styles. The Oak Knoll subdivision, of which Hillcrest is part, was intended to rival the wealthy neighborhoods of Orange Grove and the “West Side” (San Rafael and Linda Vista), so many of the estate-size lots were intended for custom home development.

The Bungalow Heaven walking tour features Pasadena’s oldest and largest landmark district including over 800 glorious bungalows. Bungalow Heaven was designated a landmark district in 1989, after more than four years of work by neighborhood residents dedicated to preserving the look and feel of the area. The neighborhood continues to have honors bestowed upon it.

Pasadena in the Movies presentation highlights the many buildings and cityscapes used in hundreds of films, TV shows and commercials. Included are gracious tree-lined streets featuring recognizable residences, iconic public buildings, and breathtaking vistas, all related to easily recognized movies and shows. Theater-style snacks will be provided as well as a drive-yourself list of the locations featured in the presentation.

Tickets are $22 for Pasadena Heritage members; $25 for nonmembers.

For additional information, call Katherine Baxter at (626) 441-6333 or email kbaxter@pasadenaheritage.org.
