Detectives Arrest Smoke Shop Workers for Furnishing Tobacco to Minors

A complaint was made regarding a smoke shop in Glendale that was selling tobacco products to minors. An investigation was initiated after an anonymous tip came into the Glendale Police Department from a concerned citizen.

On Dec. 11, an investigation was initiated at a smoke shop located on the 2600 block of Honolulu Avenue. The investigation established that the shop was selling vape and tobacco products to minors. At the conclusion of the investigation, Detectives arrested 23-year-old Krikor Kozian of Tujunga for furnishing tobacco and vape products to minors.

On Sept. 11, Glendale police detectives investigated a smoke shop on the 1200 block of East Colorado. Detectives approached an individual who exited the store with tobacco products and determined the individual was a minor. Upon conclusion of the investigation, the store’s clerk was arrested for furnishing tobacco products to minors. The arrestee was later identified as 19-year-old Glendale resident Kylee Chaidez.

Investigators believe that these two smoke shops have been responsible for the majority of the vape and tobacco products that have been sold to minors in the Glendale and Crescenta Valley high school areas.
