Happy New Year, La Crescenta!
First off, Happy New Year! May 2020 bring you joy and prosperity. We are the community that cares, and may we live up to these words.
After a well-deserved break in December, the Crescenta Valley Town Council resumes its monthly general meetings on Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. in the community room of the La Crescenta Library. Supervisor Kathryn Barger will perform the swearing in of the newly elected council members and there will be the election of executive officers for 2020.
On the same note, Supervisor Barger will recognize the Crescenta Valley High School football team and head coach Hudson
Gossard after they earned the title of 2019 Pacific League champions. The CVHS football team had an undefeated season with a 10-0 record. They were also recognized as Division 10 CIF champions, their third CIF title. This is the team’s second title in the last five years with a previous title in 2014.
There are all kinds of community issues we want to address in 2020 as you will find out when you join us for our general meetings every third Thursday of each month. We welcome your suggestions for inviting organizations and agencies that will enrich our community’s well-being to make 2020 an even better year.
Let me close by reminding you once again of our general meeting on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. in the La Crescenta Library community room, 2809 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.
Harry Leon, President
Crescenta Valley Town Council
