The Crescenta Valley High School Theater Dept. presents “Fools,” a comic fable by Neil Simon directed by Amy Matalas, on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. in the school’s Underground Theater at 2900 Community Ave. in La Crescenta.

Tickets are for sale at the door and are $8 for students and $12 for adults.

Join the La Cañada High School Music Parents Association on Saturday, Feb. 22 for a festive evening of music, food, auctions and raffles. La Cañada High School’s nine-12 instrumental music groups will be a part of the 21st Annual Dinner Show and Fundraising Gala at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. Hours for the event are 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. plus an after-party featuring the jazz band at 9 p.m.
“Celebrate Music” is the theme for the evening.

Showing off their skills under the leadership of LCHS Instrumental Music Program Director Jason Stone and Advanced Orchestra Conductor Jennifer Munday will be the advanced orchestra and symphonic band. In addition, there will be specialty ensembles to enjoy throughout the venue.

The Community Scholarship Foundation of La Cañada Flintridge announces the second in a five-part Career Seminar Series, titled “Where are the Jobs?”

Speakers from occupations expected to have higher-than-average growth through 2028, as projected by the U.S. Dept. of Labor, will speak about the paths they took in their featured careers. These include Careers in the FBI and Careers with Computers. The seminar is on Feb. 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Crescenta Valley High School, 4300 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta.

Presenters include Arvanoush Boudaghians who will share the career path that led to her current position with the FBI. She is a graduate of Glendale High School with a bachelors in linguistics and a masters in language education.

Sevada Isayan will also be speaking. Sevada is a computer science and information technology instructor at Clark Magnet High School and Glendale Community College as well as a computer science lecturer at Cal State

University, Northridge. Sevada will present critical information on the computer field including computer security.

This seminar is open to the public and free through the Community

Scholarship Foundation of La Cañada Flintridge, Glendale Unified School District and the Community Foundation of the Verdugos. High school and college-aged youth are encouraged to attend; parents are also welcome.
