Kiwanis Club of La Cañada Accepting Nominations for La Cañadan of the Year

The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada announced nominations are for La Cañadan of the Year with the deadline for entries postmarked, or emailed, no later than Tuesday, March 3.

Established in the early 1950s, the award gives the community-at-large the opportunity to honor an individual, or a couple, who has demonstrated a heartfelt commitment to La Cañada Flintridge through their exemplary volunteer work.

The criteria for selection are to have current and long-term broad-based involvement in volunteer community service; display leadership qualities that show initiative; and advocate positive recognition for the community of La Cañada Flintridge. Last years’ recipient of the award was Vicki Schwartz for her outstanding community service.

Nomination forms may be picked up at La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce and Community Association office at La Cañada Flintridge City Hall and at the La Cañada Flintridge Library.

Forms can be mailed to the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada, La Cañadan of the Year, P.O. Box 33, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91012 or emailed to Michael Freed, Nominating Committee chairperson at freedabet@aol.com. For questions or additional information, contact Alice Perez at (818) 484-8094 or Trish McRae at (818) 568-6411.

The recipient of La Cañadan of the Year will be announced in late March, and honored at a special luncheon on April 29 at Descanso Gardens in Van de Kamp Hall. The lunch date is subject to change, based on the availability of the recipient. The general public is welcome to attend.
