Glendale Fire Department responded to a call on Sunday concerning a male in the wash at Crescenta Valley Park. It was confirmed that a 16-year-old boy had fallen into the wash at CV Park.
He had apparently entered the wash to retrieve a basketball. The water was just deep enough (2″) and fast enough to take him off his feet. The boy tumbled and slid for about a half mile before he was able to self extricate from the wash. He was bruised and pretty shaken. Fire rescue unit 29 assessed the boy and found he had several abrasions and bruises. The boy refused transport and was left with an adult.
