Evacuations ordered for parts of La Cañada Flintridge and La Crescenta

Evacuation orders have been issued today, Tuesday, Dec. 21, by the Foothills Unified Incident Command for 147 residences in La Cañada Flintridge
and 85 residences in La Crescenta due to the possibility of debris flows resulting from forecasted rain storms in the area.

Residents are urged to follow the evacuation orders as a safety precaution. Residents are asked to comply with evacuation orders by 9:00 p.m. tonight.
Affected property owners are being notified of the evacuation orders by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The Red Cross has established an evacuation shelter at the Holy Redeemer Church at 2411 Montrose Ave. in Montrose. The shelter will open at 6:00
p.m.

“No Parking During Rain Event” restrictions are currently in force on posted streets in La Cañada Flintridge and La Crescenta. Parking will not be allowed
on those streets during the entire rain event and vehicles will be subject to towing.

Residents are urged to continue to monitor news broadcasts, or visit the CARE website at www.dpwcare.org for further updates as this series of storms
approach.

“I encourage residents if asked to evacuate to comply,” urged CV Town Council president Cheryl Davis. “Remember to keep cars off the street and be safe.”
