400 Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, a laptop computer was stolen from a locked vehicle that was parked in a parking lot between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

17800 block of Little Tujunga Canyon Road in Angeles National Forest, a man placed his handgun on the front seat of his vehicle and parked the car in his gated driveway and locked the gate. He left the location for a while and when he returned found his gate was slightly open; he had closed it prior to leaving. He went to his vehicle and found his gun was missing. The theft occurred between 8:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Switzer Falls in Angeles National Forest, a man reported going on a hike to Switzer Falls leaving his vehicle parked near the start of the hiking trail. He returned to his vehicle and drove home. He was soon contacted by a representative from his bank who stated there had been attempts to use his credit cards. He went to his vehicle and discovered his wallet had been stolen from the center console where he had left it prior to his hike. The theft occurred between 8 a.m. and noon.

Mayfield and Rosemont avenues in Montrose, deputies arrested a man after witnessing him shining a cellphone light into the interior of a parked vehicle while attempting to open the car’s door. When deputies spoke to the suspect he first told them the car belonged to a friend, he then allegedly changed his statement saying the car was not a friend’s but was a car he was interested in and he wanted to see the interior. He had parked his vehicle more than a block away. There had been vehicle burglaries in the area.
The deputies arrested the suspect for tampering with the parked vehicle at 2:15 a.m.
Silver Moccasin Trail, mile marker 43, Angeles National Forest, a man reported parking his vehicle, locking it and going on a hike on a nearby trail. When he returned he discovered pry marks on the driver’s side door of his car and his wallet was missing. The theft occurred between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

1600 block of Orange Tree Lane in La Cañada Flintridge, several landscaping tools were stolen from a secured truck trailer. The padlock and chain had been cut.
The theft occurred at 2:45 p.m.

1700 block of La Barranca Road in La Cañada Flintridge, one unlocked vehicle was ransacked but nothing was reported stolen; personal items were stolen from another unlocked vehicle at the same location overnight.
