ERIC NUSBAUM IN CONVERSATION
Eric Nusbaum, author of “Stealing Home Los Angeles, The Dodgers, And The Lives Caught In Between” will be in conversation with columnist Gustavo Arellano today, Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. This is a free virtual author talk.
“Stealing Home” is a story about baseball, family, the American Dream, and the fight to turn Los Angeles into a big league city. The hills that cradle Dodger Stadium were once home to three vibrant Mexican American communities. In the early 1950s, those communities were condemned, the land was intended for public housing but then it was sold to the owner of the
Brooklyn Dodgers. The ensuing confrontation captivated the nation and the divisive outcome still echoes through Los Angeles today.
This presentation is part of the City of Glendale Library Arts & Culture Be The Change series. Visit GLAC.INFO/BETHECHANGE to reserve a space.
