Los Angeles City Fire Dept. received a call regarding a car fire that spread into the nearby brush on the westbound 210 Freeway at the La Tuna Canyon exit. As of 5:50 p.m., the LA Fire Dept. and the Glendale Fire Dept. responded to the call.
According to CHP, the freeway has no closures but traffic is affected.
There were reports of a second fire near the former Verdugo Hills Golf Course; however, LA City Fire found no evidence of a second fire. As of 6:35 p.m., the fire that is in the area of the original fire at 9323 Rexford has burned 2-3 acres and firefighters have stopped all forward progress of it.
