The first local baby of the new year arrived on Jan. 1 at Verdugo Hills Hospital. Joshua Alonso Alcantara-Ramos was born at 5:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces and stretched 20½ inches long.
“I didn’t realize how amazing it is and I also don’t care anymore – anything about me just doesn’t really matter. All that matters is what I need to do for him,” said mother Fatima Alcantara.
Little Joshua returned home yesterday to Pasadena.
Mother Fatima and Father Jose are very happy with their first born. Fatima’s New Year’s resolution was to “get Joshua out of me.” It is probably safe to say she was the first person to complete her resolution this year.
