On Friday, Oct. 23 at approximately 2:31 a.m., a patrol officer contacted a male, later identified as 31-year-old Julio Hernandez (transient), regarding his vehicle being parked on the sidewalk and in a red zone along the 3400 block of Ocean View Boulevard.
Hernandez could not offer an explanation for why he had parked his vehicle in such a manner and told the officer the vehicle belonged to his “friend” but could not provide a name for his friend. The officer conducted a records check of the vehicle and discovered it had been reported stolen out of Los Angeles.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers located methamphetamine along with two methamphetamine pipes and a debit card belonging to another male. Hernandez was subsequently arrested and booked for multiple charges including vehicle theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
