On Tuesday, Nov. 3 at approximately 4 a.m., a patrol officer was driving eastbound on Bel Aire Drive approaching Raymond Avenue when s/he observed a subject rummaging through the trunk of a parked vehicle. The officer contacted the subject and noticed a male, later identified as 42-year-old Vigen Mushigian of North Hollywood, seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle holding a butane can and a lighter.
The officer conducted a records check of Mushigian and discovered he was on probation for drug sales. During the contact, the officer located methamphetamine in Mushigian’s pocket and a loaded revolver on the floorboard below the driver’s seat. Upon closer inspection of the revolver, the officer noticed the serial number had been removed. A search of the vehicle revealed additional ammunition and methamphetamine. Mushigian stated neither the methamphetamine found in his pocket nor the revolver belonged to him.
Mushigian was arrested and booked for multiple charges including being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a controlled substance with a firearm.
