Vicki Lynn (Ellis) Cunningham was born in Creston, Iowa on Aug. 17, 1951 and passed away on Nov. 5 at Kaiser Hospital in Panorama City. She moved with her family to Los Angeles in 1954. Vicki graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in 1969 and attended Valley Junior College.
Vicki was full of life and enthusiasm and brought a lot of joy and love to those around her. After high school, Vicki pursued her music career living for several years in Laurel Canyon. Later Vicki and her best friend Karolyn rented a house together in Venice Beach where Vicki sang in a band, roller-skated and enjoyed beach life.
She loved to celebrate her birthdays at the beach in Malibu and at the Tam O’Shanter in Glendale. She also looked forward to a yearly trip with her family to Newport Beach.
Vicki and Eddie Cunningham were married on April 10, 1999. Together they pursued a career in the music industry. Vicki also worked as a secretary but music as a singer and songwriter was her passion. Hearing Vicki sing on one of her CDs will always be a comfort to her friends and family.
Vicki is survived by her mother Norma Ellis; brother Rick; brother Tim and his wife Joanne and their children Elizabeth and Nicholas; and many friends. Vicki was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the SPCA in memory of Vicki and her beloved dog Buddy.
Graveside services were held at Forest Lawn Glendale on Nov. 18 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Paul Tangonan from CV United Methodist Church officiating.
