SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY CELEBRATED AT FLINTRIDGE BOOKSTORE
On Saturday, Nov. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Flintridge Bookstore celebrates Small Business Saturday with guest authors and artists and other activities for all ages. Small Business Saturday is a nationwide event started in 2010, dedicated to showing support for indie businesses and recognizing their contributions to their communities. Flintridge Bookstore has participated for several years, but 2020 is the first year in the new space at 858 Foothill Blvd., which is just down the street from the former location.
Also new this year is an outdoor set-up, a change made to keep all guests safe during COVID-19 times. Featured guests have individual tables on the sidewalk wrapping around the store. Doors are open for in-store business, and masks and socially distancing are required. The event is scheduled weather and COVID permitting.

USC-VHH WOMEN’S COUNCIL PRESENTS COMEDY EVENT
The USC-Verdugo Hills Hospital Women’s Council is hosting “Laughter Makes a Happy Heart – Notes from Quarantine.” The event is on Tuesday, Dec. 1 beginning at 5:30 p.m. It stars Fritz Coleman and includes trivia fun, social time, an update on the hospital and more. Admission to this virtual event is free but donations are requested. Donations are earmarked for IR cath lab fund that the council is overseeing.

SWINGIN’ THE HOLIDAYS AT BOLTON HALL MUSEUM
The very popular Little Landers Historical Society/Bolton Hall annual holiday party featuring live holiday music performances by the Randy Van Horne Singers is cancelled this year due to COVID-19.
In its place, Randy Van Horne Singers’ Franny McCartney and Lynn Keller have teamed up to brighten our holidays with an original song program to enjoy at home. Filmed at the beautiful Bolton Hall Museum, the video of Franny and Lynn’s performance of holiday favorites, and some new tunes, will be available for viewing at BoltonHall.org beginning Dec. 5 and continuing through December.

BLESSING THE HOLIDAYS WITH SANTA DRIVE-THROUGH
The La Crescenta Woman’s Club is hosting a Santa drive-through event that will allow children and their families to see – contact-free – Santa and Mrs. Claus. This free event is being held on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Club parking lot at 4004 La Crescenta Ave.
• Stay warm and cozy in your cars as Santa’s elves guide you
• Listen to festive holiday music
• Guests must wear masks and stay in their vehicles the entire time to socially distance.
• Attendees will enter parking lot from lower driveway by going north on La Crescenta Avenue (turn right safely); no left turns into lot! Cars will exit at upper end of parking lot.
