Deputies Save Man’s Life in La Cañada Flintridge

On Tuesday, Jan. 19, units from Crescenta Valley Station were dispatched to a local convenience store for reports of a 52-year-old male who was trapped beneath his vehicle. The patient had been working on a mechanical issue underneath his truck and it rolled back on him and he was pinned to the ground.

When deputies arrived, they saw the male inhale deeply and then stop breathing. Believing the man would die if they didn’t act immediately, deputies immediately attempted to lift the front bumper of the vehicle off of the man. As the four deputies struggled, two civilian bystanders joined the deputies then they were all successfully able to lift the truck off of the male and pull him to safety. The man began breathing again and he was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery thanks to the quick actions of all involved.
