Kiwanis Club of La Cañada Seeks Nominations for La Cañadan of the Year

The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada is seeking outstanding individual volunteers or enterprising couples who have made a positive impact in the La Cañada Flintridge community and deserve to be recognized. The noontime Kiwanis Club of La Cañada announced nominations are now open for La Cañadan of the Year for 2020.

Since 1951, the award has honored such notable people as Frank Lanterman, Les Tupper, Gil Smith and Alice and Dave Spence, to name a few. This event will herald a person or a couple who have provided exemplary service, lent their leadership skills and have ignited positivity through the years. The deadline to submit a nomination is May 28, 2021.

La Cañadan of the Year Committee Chairperson Nick Berkuta said, “This annual event is a great opportunity for the community to once again celebrate an individual or a couple who are a shining example of selflessly giving of their time. This is a call for action to applaud exceptional contributions that make La Cañada Flintridge such a special place to live in.”

The selected La Cañadan of the Year will be announced in June. Members of the public are invited to attend and specific details on the time and date of the luncheon will be publicized at a future date. The ceremony will follow the current COVID-19 guidelines in effect by Los Angeles County.
