Dignity Health – Glendale Memorial Hospital Vaccinates High School Students and Families

On Friday, May 7, Dignity Health – Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center hosted a Pfizer vaccine clinic in partnership with Glendale Unified School District. The vaccination event provided more than 1,700 second doses of the vaccine that is proven to prevent COVID-19 infections.

“It’s really important to get the second dose of your vaccine,” explained Dr. William Wang, GMHHC chief medical officer. “Studies show that those who receive their second dose have a higher immunity to the virus, including the variant strains.”

Cadie Carlson, 17, is a resident of La Crescenta and a senior at Crescenta Valley High School, received the vaccine because she wants to help the community move on from the pandemic and heal. Carlson is preparing for college, and looks forward to what the future holds as she plans to study broadcast journalism.
