Valentine Fun in Montrose! (Part 1)

Mary Dawson

The Montrose Shopping Park is the perfect place to come and get in the Valentine mood. We have several stores that really get into the theme of things with red, white, pink, hearts and love. Jane’s Cakes & Chocolates is one of these stores. I popped in the other day and much to my delight they had a big bowl of pretzels sitting on the counter that had been decorated for Valentines. They were dipped and decorated with red, white, & pink chocolate and sprinkled with edible confetti. They were there to sample and, of course, Jane’s will show you how to make them. They also had pink chocolate lips on a stick, and a chocolate heart shaped jewelry box. Imagine being proposed to with a ring in that box! Then there’s the joy of looking at all of the special Valentine baking supplies.

Look at what you can make at Jane's Cakes & Chocolates!

The window at Revelation Tops looks like a living Valentine. A giant Valentine is displayed with all of their new heart-theme tees. The tees come in sizes S-XL and they seem to disappear fast. There are also Valentine earrings to match. Right next door, The Montrose Candy Co. has all of the Valentine candy treats you are looking for. This year they have the cutest custom packaging. It’s a clear cylinder with a handle that is personalized just for you and decorated with a red & white polka dot bow for only $3.95. You can then fill it with the candy of your choice.

Don’t forget to make a reservation at The T Room for their annual Valentine’s Tea. This year the tea is $29.99 and includes gourmet tea sandwiches, custom pastries just for this occasion, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and a special black tea called Valentine Tea that is flown in just for the day. When you go, be sure to ask Esma who the very famous person is that visited her tea room just this week.

To further enhance your Valentine enjoyment, I will be posting a pic a day of Montrose Valentine treats on our Facebook page. Do become a fan. I also invite you to check out our blog. I will show you pics of what I have been writing about. It’s easy. Just go to www.shopmontrose.com and click on the “BLOG” button. I hope you are feeling the love.

See you next week and thank you for supporting the small stores in the Montrose Shopping Park.
