Arya Ghassemlou of Glendale was named to Southern New Hampshire University’s summer 2021 dean’s list. Eligibility for the dean’s list requires that a student accumulate an academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.5-3.699 and earn 12 credits for the term.
Jacklyn Campbell of Tujunga, Jennifer Kubela of La Crescenta and Taylor Rickard of Tujunga were named to the SNHU summer 2021 president’s list. Full-time students who earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above were named to the president’s list. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits either in EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4, or EW5 & EW6.

Adam Burnstine of La Cañada Flintridge was recently accepted to be among the 80,000-plus members of the Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He joins students from across the U.S. and territories including Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia and 29 countries.

Colin Apel of La Cañada Flintridge is a graduate of Colgate University in the Class of 2021. Apel, a graduate of Capistrano Connections Academy, majored in sociology at Colgate and minored in economics. Apel received a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude at Colgate’s 200th commencement, which was held in person at Colgate’s Andy Kerr Stadium on May 9.

Ana Gabrielian of Glendale earned a master of science in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Gabrielian was among approximately 1,480 undergraduate and graduate students who earned degrees during the Summer 2021 semester.

Approximately 1,700 students were named to the Biola University dean’s list in spring 2021. Biola students are placed on the dean’s list to honor those with a GPA of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credits and whose cumulative GPA is at least 3.2.
The following local residents were named to the dean’s list: Alexandra Bowers of La Cañada majoring in liberal studies elementary ed; From La Crescenta: Talin Emmerson who is majoring in music education, Pauline Kim who is majoring in nursing, Yeri Kim and Isaac Sung of La Crescenta who are majoring in comm sciences disorders; Alique Malakian of Tujunga who is majoring in kinesiology; Esther Yang of Sunland who is majoring in Biblical ministries; and Molly Mittelberg of La Cañada Flintridge who is majoring in nursing.
