Dr. Jeff Prater to speak at LCPC
On Sunday, Feb. 13, the La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s Growing Families ministry is hosting guest speaker Dr. Jeff Prater. He will be speaking on ADHD and the questions many have about ADHD.
Dr. Prater is a clinical psychologist and elder at San Marino Community Presbyterian Church. He has specialized in childhood and adolescent issues for over 30 years.
Growing Families is a ministry of the La Cañada Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dr. Chuck Osburn hosts speakers and discussions of family life, parenting/grandparenting and faith issues. Growing Families meets monthly in the Fellowship Hall of the Demarest Family Life Center September through June at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
Everyone is invited. The event is free and open to the public.

Love is in the Air
at Center
‘Tis that time again for the Center for Spiritual Living family and friends to celebrate love in all its glory including feasting together on delicious appetizers, Italian cuisine prepared by two Center Italians John Rafanello and John Difusco and enjoying music by virtuoso Evan J. Marshall.
All are welcome. Donation for adults is $12.50, children ages 6 – 12 $8, children 5 and under free.
This event begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11 at Center for Spiritual Living – La Crescenta, 4845 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta.

Valentine’s Eve Concert
Delight your special someone with “A Valentine’s Eve Treat,” a concert of classic love songs performed by the Jack Lantz Big Band on Sunday, Feb. 13, at 4 p.m. in the La Cañada Presbyterian Church Sanctuary.
The band will play favorites from the Great American Songbook including the music of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, Rogers & Hammerstein and many other composers. Among the selections will be “When I Fall in Love,” “Our Love Is Here to Stay,” “A Prelude to a Kiss,” “Time After Time,” “Makin’ Whoopee,” and, of course, “My Funny Valentine.”
The Jack Lantz Big Band, founded in 1981, is comprised of 16 accomplished musicians and an engaging singer.

Mid-Week Programs at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church
Wednesday night programs for all ages called PEAK (Praise, Education for Adults and Kids) continue at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church. A home-cooked dinner is provided each week for a nominal donation from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the classes for all ages run from 6:30-8:00 p.m. There are three new classes for adults being offered.
“Love and Logic” is being led by Center for Children Director Pat Chambers. It will be offered for 12 weeks. Love and Logic is a philosophy of raising children that allows adults to be happier, empowered and more skilled in the interactions with children. .
The second class offered is “Foundations for Families” and is for couples and singles in their 20s, 30s and 40s. The class will be led by a team including Pastor Andy Wilson and will begin by studying the book “Crazy Love.”
All classes are free, nursery care is provided and all ages from Pre-K through junior high have active fellowship groups during the class time from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
