On Tuesday principals at La Crescenta Elementary School and Crescenta Valley High School shared messages with their school families concerning two related disturbances at the schools.
At La Crescenta Elementary an after school coach was a victim of an unprovoked altercation with an unknown female who has no association to the school. This happened outside school grounds. No students or other staff members were involved in or witnessed the incident.
The unknown adult female then went onto the Crescenta Valley High School campus and walked into a sixth period class. Emergency protocols were activated by the teacher and, within seconds, school administration and staff responded to the classroom and escorted the individual out of the school building without incident. Deputies from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept.-CV Station arrived shortly thereafter and arrested the individual. School administrators were able to identify the entry point and the situation is now remedied.
The CV Sheriff’s Station was aware of the individual who caused the altercation and in the coming days will be extra vigilant in patrolling the area surrounding the school. The woman is in custody.
The school district urged the community to keep safe by remembering if you “See Something, Say Something.” Please continue to report anything suspicious seen or heard in the community or on social media. Threats can be reported directly to school office, by downloading the Glendale Unified School District app and submit an anonymous tip on the app tip line, by calling the District’s phone tip line at (323) 999-6062, or by calling the LASD-CV Sheriff Station at (818) 248-3464.
