The Community Scholarship Foundation of La Cañada Flintridge, Inc., (CSF) is now accepting scholarship applications from local graduating high school seniors.
CSF’s mission is to inspire students to achieve their full potential. CSF scholarships support students who demonstrate perseverance, integrity, teamwork and community service. CSF has scholarships available for graduating high school students seeking a higher education, whether at a community college, trade/vocational college or four-year university. Eligibility requirements include students having a minimum 3.0 GPA and attend one the following schools: Crescenta Valley High School, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, Flintridge Preparatory School, Hillside School and Learning Center, La Cañada High School or St. Francis High School.
CSF Scholarship director Trish McRae encourages high school seniors to visit the CSF website at csflacanada.org to obtain the link to submit an online application. Applications deadline is April 24. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than May 16 and will be publicly announced at their high school’s awards night. Awardees will participate in the La Cañada Flintridge Fiesta Days Parade on Monday, May 30.
Scholarships range from $2,000 to $3,000. As part of the review process, applicant essays are taken into consideration, including special circumstances and financial needs.
CSF is a community-supported foundation established in 1964; it is exclusively run by volunteers with 99% of all funds received going to scholarships. Over the past 58 years, CSF has awarded over $1 million in scholarships.
