La Cañada High School graduate Isabella Gasparyan is attending the Paul Mitchell Beauty School in Pasadena. She describes herself as hard-working with a genuine love of makeup and skincare. She developed this interest following a personal struggle with acne in her teens and became a self-taught makeup artist who has applied makeup for friends and family for special events. Gasparyan is a well-rounded applicant who has served the community through hosting a Red Cross blood drive, for which she received a Girl Scouts Silver Award. In addition, she played volleyball and was on a Division 1 championship team. She is the recipient of the 2021 Scholastic Art and Writing arts award for the western region as well as a finalist for the California Streaming Photography contest.

Nicole Bednar

, graduate of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, is currently attending Pasadena City College. Bednar describes herself as authentic, self-aware and committed to serving her community. She demonstrates this through involvement in her church (St. Bede Confirmation Program and Christians in Action) and community (La Cañada Tournament of Roses Association), as well as multiple extra-curricular activities including a part-time job in a hair salon, athletics (volleyball) and the urban dance team. She has been able to maintain a near perfect GPA. Bednar has been accepted to the Trojan Transfer Program and will be transferring to USC in the fall of 2022, working towards a degree in broadcast journalism.

CAP members participate in five philanthropic programs. In addition to the Scholarship Program, CAP administers Cappy Bears, SPROUTS, and CAP Care PACs, and works with ALF on Operation School Bell. CAP philanthropies are supported by sales in the Bargain Box, ALF’s thrift shop.
