Spring is in the air! The trees are beginning to bud and the birds are beginning to sing! What a great place we live in. While most of the United States is under four to five feet of snow, with more on the way, our days are filled with mild temperatures and lots of sunshine. Take advantage of the weather and come stroll our beautiful tree-lined streets, shop in our amazing stores and eat at our wide array of restaurants. If the weather is just right, you can enjoy your meal outside.
The Montrose Verdugo-City Chamber of Commerce has many exciting events coming up that we would love for everyone to take part in. Our first Artwalk of 2011 will be on Saturday, March 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our last Artwalk was sold out and was a very successful event. There was a wide variety of art and lots of great music. We would love to see you there.
Another exciting event that is happening this spring is our annual golf classic. We are excited about this event and hope everyone will participate. We will be raising money to award scholarships to our graduating seniors. Our event is going to be held at our very own Verdugo Hills Golf Course. With plans by a developer that proposed at 229-unit housing development slated for our golf course, we need your help! We would love to have a strong support from the community to not only help support our local golf course, but to also support our graduating seniors. For more information on the fight to save the golf course please go to gcvoice.org.
Please join us for our March mixer at Mountview Retirement Residence in Montrose from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 2640 Honolulu Ave., (818) 248-3072. Our monthly mixers are a great way to network, meet other business owners and promote your local business. There will be food, fun and great raffle prizes. We hope to see you there!
