Two Youths Receive God and Family Award

Noah Draney and Dante Solano, both fifth grade students, were awarded the God and Family medallion on Sunday, Feb. 6 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church. The God and Family program is the second program in the P.R.A.Y. series (Programs of Religious Activities with Youth) in the Sr. Webelos of the Cub Scouts. The objective is to help young
people grow in their understanding of the Christian faith and to learn different ways of strengthening the family through that faith.

Fr. Rob Holman of St. Luke’s Anglican Church presented
the two boys with the award
for the work they have done. “I’m really proud of them,” Holman said. “I love how the Boy Scouts build character in young men and how God’s doing it with these young
men.”

Noah and Dante attended six weeks of classes, held at La Cañada Presbyterian Church, learning about family relationships and God working in the family. The boys were required to memorize the Ten Commandments in order to receive the award. They also looked at different family stories in the Bible to see what Jesus’ family history looked like and how it can be applied today.

Noah and Dante are going to bridge to Boy Scouts later this year.
