2100 block of Cross Street in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a call regarding a burglary in progress. The suspect had run from the Cross Street location. The suspect was described as a white male adult wearing a black baseball cap, a white shirt, black pants and black shoes. Deputies were unable to find the suspects.
Returning to the home deputies found the pool house window had been smashed, and the suspect was able to break both panes of the double pane glass. There was another window that was broken.
Deputies set up a containment area but were unable to find the suspect. A nearby resident reported seeing a person in a white Mercedes throw a black bag onto the street on Castle Road. The backpack had a crowbar, pliers and gloves. Surveillance footage revealed an adult male wearing a baseball cap, reading glasses, a black surgical mask, a white long sleeve shirt, black pants and black shirt push the victim’s Ring doorbell. The male suspect then wiped off the doorbell button and turned around.
The suspect then walked to a gate and opened it gaining entrance onto the property.
The incident occurred at 7:31 p.m.

2900 block of Stevens Street in La Crescenta, a vehicle’s front driver side door lock cylinder was punched allowing a person/persons to enter the truck. The interior of the truck was ransacked. The vehicle burglary occurred between 2:30 p.m. on May 20 and 6 a.m. on May 21.

4600 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident reported he received a letter delivered by USPS from the Employment Development Dept. The letter was a “notice of unemployment insurance claim” that had been filed. The claim was filed using the resident’s name and employer information. The resident was still employed and had not file with EDD.
The identity theft was reported at noon.

4600 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident reported receiving a call from her bank notifying the address on her Employment Development Dept. (EDD) had been changed from where she actually lives in La Crescenta to an address in Torrance. She did not give anyone permission to change the address and had not filed with EDD. Later she was contacted by her employer that he had received a notice that someone had attempted to start an EDD claim in her name; that too had a new address – this time in North Hills.
The identity theft was reported at 8:44 p.m.
