Man Makes Commotion at Park

A 62-year-old La Cañada man was arrested on July 10 at Memorial Park at the end of the Music in the Park event at about 8 p.m.

Los Angeles County Sheriff deputies from Crescenta Valley Station responded to the park due to a disturbance by the suspect.

“A male was [allegedly] arguing with people at the park,” said Sgt. John Gilbert.

The man was known to the deputies due to a previous report concerning criminal threats. The deputies contacted the suspect, a struggle ensued and a “use of force” incident occurred. The suspect was arrested, Gilbert added.

LA County Fire responded and treated the suspect for minor injuries; he was transported to the hospital.

He was arrested and charged with resisting a public officer and making criminal threats. The LA County District Attorney has filed one count of criminal threat.
