2800 block of Paraiso Way in La Crescenta, the rear driver’s side window of a vehicle was shattered. Nothing appeared to be missing. The vehicle burglary occurred at 1:30 p.m.
July 28
800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, on July 27 a business owner received a notification from his alarm company that his business alarm was activated. The owner checked the video surveillance footage and, seeing nothing, advised his alarm company to cancel the call to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station. The next day the business owner noticed his building’s attic drywall was damaged. He contacted the CV Sheriff’s Station whose deputies responded. Surveillance footage revealed pieces of drywall falling to the floor from the attic. Movement stopped shortly after, then a person’s hand, wearing a glove reached through the attic, opened the security alarm panel door and began to tamper with wires inside. A few minutes later all movement stopped. No one was seen entering the building.
The incident occurred between 1:15 a.m. and 2:03 a.m.
5000 block of Princess Anne Road in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a call concerning a burglary in progress. The call stated the victim was still inside the home barricaded in her bedroom. Deputies arrived and did not find any suspect in the exterior of the home. They did find a window had been shattered. They were able to contact the resident and escorted her out of her home while deputies searched the interior. They found a bedroom had been ransacked and broken glass from the front window was scattered across the floor. The resident stated she heard the sound of glass breaking, got out of her bed and walked toward the door to her bedroom. She saw the light from a flashlight coming from the office next to her bedroom. She witnessed a man, described as Caucasian, about 6’ tall with a medium build, attempting to open a closet door of her hallway. At the time he was wearing a light blue T-shirt with white writing on it.
The burglary occurred 10:40 p.m.
700 block of Forest Green Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a call concerning a residential burglary. The resident reported that her two dogs began to bark toward the rear door of her residence. Shortly after the resident went to her bedroom on the second floor and fell asleep. About 30 minutes later she heard loud thumps from the first floor of her home but did not hear glass breaking. She walked down to the first floor and saw that her rear glass door had been shattered. She immediately called 9-1-1. Deputies responded but no suspect/suspects were found.
The burglary occurred at 11 p.m.
2000 block of Laughlin Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident returned home to find construction equipment had been stolen. The burglary occurred overnight.
July 22
4800 block of Vineta Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge, the bedroom glass door had been shattered and several rooms had been ransacked in a home. Nothing was reported stolen at the time.
The burglary occurred between July 22-29.
