Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center announced that a new study ranks its clinical quality among the top 5% in the nation. The study by HealthGrades®, the leading independent health care ratings organization, analyzed patient outcomes at each of the nation’s 5,000 non-federal hospitals over the years 2007-2009. Glendale Memorial Hospital is the recipient of HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence ™ – nine years in a row.
“This is the ninth consecutive year that Glendale Memorial has received this honor, and we are proud to consistently be recognized for our exceptional quality,” said Mark Meyers, hospital president. “This recognition is due to the dedication of our physicians, nurses and staff, who work diligently, each day, to provide our community with quality health care.”
HealthGrades is the only organization that produces a study of overall hospital quality that relies solely on clinical outcomes. According to their ninth annual Quality and Clinical Excellence Study, Glendale Memorial Hospital and other top performing hospitals demonstrated patient outcomes that far exceeded those of other hospitals. Patients who receive care at a Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence have, overall, a 29.82% lower risk of inhospital mortality and 1.91% lower risk of an inhospital complication.
