Kirk Smith, owner of Smith’s Produce, died on Jan. 1 following a battle with cancer. He was 55.
Kirk was born at Glendale Memorial Hospital. He grew up in La Crescenta and graduated from Crescenta Valley High School where he played on the basketball team. Smith’s Produce served the local community for over 30 years and was a resource for foothill residents during the COVID pandemic. Kirk was also known for operating an annual pumpkin patch and Christmas tree lot that was a staple for local families. He served the community since the mid-1980s.
He is survived by his wife Ireen; son Connor, daughter-in-law Olivia and grandson Cade; daughter Kayla; granddaughters Khloe and Audrey; sisters Kymberly and Kristi; brother Kyle; and many family members and friends.
A celebration of life is being held on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 34350 Almond St. in Wildomar. For those who want to send flowers, please send white ones; those attending the service should wear white or light-colored clothing.
For those who can’t make the service in Wildomar, an informal drop-in event is being held on Sunday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at Los Gringos Locos, 631 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge.
